Welcome to my blog!
My name is Emanuela Juc, but I prefer Emma. I am 19 years old, bi-lingual
in English and Romanian, and I have live in Kitchener my entire life. I love to
travel, but no where feels life home. I belong to the church youth committee,
and I am a believer in Christ.
I am currently enrolled in the Office Administration Legal Program at
Conestoga College, Doon Campus (which is only 5 minutes from my home, I love
it!). I am self motivated, and very organized.
Having grown up my entire life in Kitchener, and becoming very familiar
with this area I would like to complete my placement near home. Coming into
this program I was scared about not possibly enjoying the law aspect due to how
many business courses I was taking in high school and my love for business. My
liking for law has grown over the past year and I believe I have found a
solution to where I wold like to engage my focus on finding a career. Not just
any assistant placement will be acceptable, due to the law requirement, so what
better way then to find a placement in Corporate Law that will incorporate law and
business at the same time. Business has always been something I enjoyed and to
be able to incorporate a little bit of law and business of one job, that sounds
amazing! Along with my interest in Corporate Law, I will also be looking for
opportunities in Wills/Estates and Real Estate.
Having experience in an office experience makes me aware of
what to expect when I go out to field placement. Whether it's from inputting
data in software, filing, photocopying, organizing files, answering the phone,
or writing correspondence, I feel very prepared.
As of today, I have applied to three locations. Haney, Haney & Kendall
in Waterloo is looking for a receptionist/legal assistant interested in
learning more about estates and corporate law. Cohen Highley LLP in Kitchener
is looking for a legal assistant for Esates and Wills. Rabideau Law in
Kitchener is looking for Real Estate help. I am currently waiting on responses
from these firms, but my placement hunting will not stop here!
I will keep everyone in touch with my journey on finding a placement!
Thank you for your very informative post Emma. I didn't know you could speak Romanian. We must revise your resume!!
ReplyDeleteHi Emma - you mentioned that you had experience in an office prior to your Field Placement; what was the actual title of your position and was it with a legal office? Has any of the three firms you applied to answered you back; and if so, whom are you going to choose?
ReplyDeleteHello Maryrose, hope your enjoying your field placement.
DeleteAs it was quite a while ago when I did my co-op I'm not sure of what my official title of position was, and no it was not a legal office, it was a constituents office. I did my co-op for the MP (Member of Parliament) of Kitchener Conestoga. As of now I am still waiting on a reply from two firms. The position at Cohen Highley has been taken.
